So what's the task?

As you have already investigated and collected information regarding the planets of our solar system, it is now time to create your very own planet to add to the system.

Individually, you will be creating YOUR OWN PLANET within the Milky Way solar system.

By completing this Web Quest you should achieve the following goals:
  • Design your own Planet, with it's own page, demonstrating a knowledge in:
    • A Planets statistical information: Mass, Orbit, Shape, Moons, Distance from the sun, Gravity and Proximity to other planets.
    • The International Astronomical Union's definition of what makes a Planet.
    • Dwarf planets and their characteristics and;
    • Determining whether yours and other students are Dwarf planets or not.

  • Develop an enthusiastic approach to our solar system.
  • Look at other students planets and how they would relate to your own planet

This task, when complete, is another block in the building of your own wiki-space Milky Way Galaxy. Near the completion of the unit we will be moving our solar system information and your own planet onto the wiki until each student has a fully fledged wiki web page that illustrates our Milky Way Galaxy and its amazing characteristics.
